Hi,
I am a 55 year old woman who recently suffered a moderate heart attack, with a blockage, requiring 2 stents to be put in, and I am scared to death. All I had was indigestion for a sympton, and was in pretty good shape and health. This has caused me to feel alone angry and sad. Is this normal?
Any thoughts,
Thanks,
Yes, it's very normal. Although I was experiencing a stressful time in my life with other issues, the only symptom was pretty much just severe indigestion. I was only 50 at the time(earlier this summer) and was shocked, but I am still here and am feeling much better, but I still have work to do to arrive at my "new normal". I was very, very scared, anxious, and depressed at first. I understand that these are very common symptoms; also, the depressions actually comes from physiological changes from body chemistry that results from the heart attack itself. My main advice? Faith, patience, and support and help from your family and friends as much as possible are the most important. Don't feel ashamed or helpless to ask for help or accept help from those that offer. Bottom line: you'll be fine.:-) Just hang in there.:-) I wish you all the best.
