Healthy Sex Support Group
This community is dedicated to an open discussion about healthy sex and sharing thoughts and feelings about sexuality and improving one's sex life. Most active adults desire to have an active and fulfilling sex life, both for themselves and also their partner. Here we discuss common sexual challenges faced by both men and women.
With adult women, it makes me nuts...yuck!
I ALWAYS SAY "I" WHICH I KNOW MAKES ME A SELFISH AND SELF-CENTERED PERSON, BUT I JUST HAVEN'T FOUND A WAY TO HELP MYSELF.
ALL I CAN TALK ABOUT IS THINGS I'VE GONE THROUGH. HOW AM I TO KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE GONE THROUGH, UNLESS YOU TELL ME.
Yes, when you're expressing how you feel, you need to use the "I" word. But it's SOOO important to educate young people and tell them "the world does not revolve around YOU". Get out there and work, ya lazy bastards. You'll learn really quick how insignificant you are.
and as for the "one could"~~~ sheesh....that's enough to make me want to stomp my heels into "one's" foot. Usually when someone is using the word "one" it means YOU could do blah blah blah...and if theres anything I dislike more then being told what I 'should' do....
That trick is, when arguing, it is much LESS offensive if you use the word "i" instead of "you"
Example: "I would prefer it if the children were fed before I come to pick them up" is generally taken in better context than: "You should feed your kids before i get here"
I have learned that "I" is a great tool for making my point, in any case, regardless of who I'm debating with.
Hmmm some folks were never learned the proper ways of things so they are destined to be vast bores in every persons life they touch. The one that gets my goat is third person talks - very interesting hehehehe Backstabbing porno star!
And, yes, let's say I've had a bad date or two lately...
And, yes, it's a sign of being uneducated. Now, saying "I feel that this or that should be" is a much kinder and more intelligent phrase.
And, yes, some men blab about themselves incessantly too. It's like saying "look at ME! It's all about ME!" while US goes out the window, and they wonder why their date doesn't return their phone calls.
AloneinUtah (sorry to hear that): You especially hit on a really good point there.
The whole "I Want" depends on the context, as well as the reactions by members of the opposite sex, as pointed by AIU,
I'm the classic "good listener", even though while I'm "listening", I'm usually mentally undressing the barmaids.
DayKart: I do prefer women who talk a lot...because I sometimes don't have a fucking clue what to say...they set the tone and I interject where I feel it might elicit a funny or warm response from them...
A self-effacing sense of humor is what I find disarmingly wonderful, someone who can actually make fun of herself!
