I posted something on a personal level related to this topic in the Healthy Relationships section. I just wanted to bring it up here because I guess it would belong more here, in a general sense...not necessarily asking for advice on my situation, just to get a discussion going.

What's everyone's opinion on the etiquette of reciprocating oral sex (assuming both of you enjoy receiving and giving it)? What I mentioned in the other forum was things got hot with a girl I'm seeing and she went down on me. The we moved to the bedroom and I got the feeling she wanted the favor returned but I got really nervous and self conscious so I didn't go down on her just lots of kissing her stomach and then we had sex. I might have read to0 far into it but things seemed to get a little awkward after but are back on track for us now and she even planned a non-sexual date for us for next weekend.

So yeah one would assume if someone goes down on you, you owe it to return the favor. I know everything is situational too but do you guys think that etiquette holds true during the session or just in a general sense? In other words, if she goes down on me, is it appreciated to return the favor at the time or is it just something special I should keep in mind doing for her in the future? I like the idea of that, to not expect anything in return but to maybe surprise her by going down on her and not expecting anything in return either when that happens. I think that's the best approach just as long as each person is feeling satisfied and things are kept in balance. I could see it becoming a problem if one wanted more than they were receiving but was giving their share in return.

I guess I'm just wondering everyone's opinions of if you feel like you should return the favor in that particular setting or if it's just eventually down the road you give your partner a special surprise.
