Why you should never settle from what you really want in life, there is no one that is going to have everything you ask for. I think you have to decide whats the most important to you. Don't settle for not having those things, but you might have to when it comes to other little stuff.

For example, I would LOVE to have a man who I don't have to ask to put down the toilet seat. He just does. But that being one of many in a long list of things I want, I might have to settle for a man that leaves it up. I know, may sound stupid. But it goes the same with physical characteristics too.

I'm not ever saying people should settle for second best. But there is no such things as this "perfect person" you have in your mind. You will have to pick and choose. IMO.

Toilet seat: Not a problem for me, flutter--I always have to do a #2 when I do a #1 LOL.

Thanks for the advice. Nobody's perfect--that's for sure, and I'm sure if I met the woman I described, I'd find her psychotic (the downside of those other qualities). Take the bad with the good, I guess LOL-!

all I can say is this..the longer I am single, more men are becoming that much more attractive..LOL..ones I wouldn't normally find attractive are become so. I don't think I am compromising the "must haves" on my list, yet, when you look outside your normal box..you may be surprised at what you find

qualities:
in a woman: long hair, preferably dark. curvy hips and absolutely not slender or athletic. Someone who's sensitive and soft and understanding. A girly girl who's also not afraid of working or getting dirty. Someone who's just a little bit of a tease and a little submissive (although occasionally dominant wouldn't be bad). Someone who is subtly sexy and doesn't dress provocatively.

in a man: a protector. dark hair. weight doesn't matter as much.. slender to overweight. Good sense of humor and someone who's kind and still knows what chivalry is. A guy who's not that into sports, but more into intellectual debate but still likes to let loose and have fun.

in both: a caring and compassionate nature. Someone who's vegetarian/vegan (or at least considering it or trying to be). Someone who cares about the planet, is non christian, a liberal, smart, curious, and someone who takes up causes that matter and fights against that which is wrong. Someone with passion and conviction. Lack of aggression or temper. Preferably someone who has a pagan sense of spirituality (but who is more or less atheist).

Tell me about it. Flirted with a black girl at a funeral I was videotaping yesterday (a friend of the bereaved family); had I pushed things a bit, we could've easily got it on in my car. Had to get to another event though.

Shouldn't say "black" girl. BEAUTIFUL girl (who, yes, happened to have darker skin than I have).

Physical: Thick guy. Broad shoulders. Nice eyes and lips.

Personality: Humor a MUST, kind, intelligent, hardworking, affectionate, respectful.

Found him. He's the only person on the planet that I could act as goofy and crazy with and not think less of me :)
