Anybody seen the trailer? I loved it!!! Harrison Ford's a bit long in the tooth to play that tenacious daredevil archeologist, but a lot of those guys go globe-trotting 'til they drop over dead, so maybe it ain't too much of a stretch...
Looks like a damn good movie, don'tcha think? Screenplay by Jurassic Park/Lost World's David Koepp, Steven Spielberg (of the first three installments) enthusiastically directing as always (God bless him), Lucas/Marshall/Kennedy producing, all the original team there except (I believe) cinematographer Douglas Sloccombe, who is (I believe) in his 80s now and not quite physically up to the task; probably David Tattersall, who lensed the Star Wars prequels, will take over that "chore". A lot of CGI, but some good ol' fashioned live-action stunts, with Harry himself as Indy doing a lot of them, no small feat at age 65. Stick-thin, sweet, 30-something waif Callista Flockhart must be good for him (no need for viagra LOL). And Karen Allen back as tough-as-nails Marion Ravenwood (sweet-always loved her good right hook in the first Raiders)! John Hurt as her father Abner (waitaminute, isn't Abner dead-?). A couple of newcomers too--the kid from Transformers and I forget the other dude as Indy's sidekicks (fill in the blanks).
Ahh, for lack of a social life, I'll make up for it with some good cinematic entertainment this year! Highlights of '08: We'll get a new President (scattered isolated hand-claps) and a new Indiana Jones film (huge, thunderous, stadium-filling cheers). Shows you where my priorities lie, eh?
Anyway, thought this might get a chuckle.

Oh, is it really possible someone hasn't seen the trailer. Maybe it's just my husband who makes me watch it every other day just incase something has changed. We already have a babysitter planned for premier night. Never in all my 32 yrs have I seen a movie on opening night.

cometodoc: YEAH!!! Raiders of the Lost Ark IS actually my favorite movie. It's got it all. Temple of Doom was a well-crafted film visually with a horrible story, but had some nice laughs "Water...!" Last Crusade brought the welcome talents of Sean Connery as Indy's eccentric philandering dad--really a treat watching Harrison and Sean work together!!!

I thought Sly's new Rambo film lacked story, but he sure was beefed up as usual (albeit a bit worse-for-wear spiritually as Rambo, because of all the killing that character enjoyed). But Indy is more of an academic, educational adventure, with a mind as well as a heart, and I think this new film is gonna kick ass!!!
