Ok this maybe a off the wall question but I really am curious to know what others think.
I tease my husband sometimes that he should get a tattoo with my name, written on the left side of his chest ( over his heart) and I will say "if he reaaally... *loved me*... he would do it..." or I will say "someday before I kick the bucket... I hope a man *somewhere* will get a tattoo of my name... " and of course I say it in a tone that I am joking with him... and he knows that...

But then one day I actually thought it through and thought "hey wait a minute... I kinda like that idea!" LOL

Does anyone here have a tattoo with the name of their significant other?

I DO know people always say that you shouldnt because people break up and then you are stuck but ( we have a pretty strong history of 20 years now together LOL )

I dont know why I have changed my opinion from questionable to kinda sexy and kinda romantic?

Anyone find this stupid?

Any lucky girls out there... ever have a man tattoo your name on themselves?

A lot of tattoo artists will advise you to think long and hard about it as the ink is permanent, just as they will advise against getting tattoos on your hands or face.
In my opinion, no one should strongly urge another person to get a tattoo of any sort. Tattoos are quite personal and you have to be happy with the choice because you are the one living with it forever.

Yeah, I know that they are permanent ( cant believe some people get them on their face - neck- etc..) BUT to each their own.

The only name going on my body permanantly is my children's names. I agree with Steff, tattoo's are a very personal thing.

i have 3 tats....and none of them have names....that's a BIG decision and you never, ever know what the future holds.....i'll stick to non-personalized tattoos if i ever get another...

....I recently got my second tattoo with my kids initials at the base of tattoo and I love it and my kids do as well...It was something I have wanted for a long time..My tattoo is very personal to me and the kids. I would never get any names (other than kids) tattooed on me. As a matter of fact, last night I tried to discourage someone I know not to get their current boyfriends name tattooed on her..but I think it went on deaf ears..as noted in other post, tattoos are forever & sometimes love/relationships aren't......JMHO

I agree with the others, it's not silly to me it's just not important. I find certain tattoo's sexy depending on where they are and what the person looks like but I have no desire to see my name on a man.

i am with alot of the others i have only one tattoo and its got my kids names and want one other for my mother(may she rest in peace)but as far as having my hubbys name on me no no no

I have 4 tattoos and each one of them means something to me and about me that I cannot change, such as my birth and my family history/background/ origin.
At different times I considered immortalizing a couple of people I was very close to but couldn't convince myself to actually act on it, and now I think "thank Christ I didn't!"

I have 32 tattoos and never put a name on my dody but did have an ex GF's initials tattoed on the head of my penis.

i always thought getting a persons name on you was stupid. but im in an amazing marriage and plan to be for the rest of my life and although ill prob never get the guts to do it i would like to get his name tattooed on me and i think it would be cool for him to get my name tattooed on him. we are very happy and love each other very much. he would never do it cuz he thinks it jixes people. i guess it would suck if we ever did break up and then id be kicking myself. although i dont forsee a divorce you never know. so like i said i prob wouldnt have the guts to do it. def dont try to convince him or force him to get a tat. thats not right. it would be more meaningfu;l to you if he did it cuz he wanted to not cuz you told him too.
