I've been thinking over the past few months that I really want to get a tattoo, but I want it to have significant meaning to me. It will be my first one and its going to be something to inspire me to be strong.
The only thing is I've had a couple people tell me my placement might look trashy and men wouldn't like it. Yes I do want it on my chest, above my breasts but its not supposed to go deep down into my cleavage...
It's going to says "My heart made Fullmetal" and underneath it I want a heart (metal) with wings, and in the heart i want it to say "Don't Forget"
Now guys, would a chest tattoo be a turn off for you or do you not mind those kinds of things?
and ladies, would you ever get a tattoo there or would you consider it trashy?

If that's where you want it then get it there. Some people will like it, some won't, some couldn't care less but the only opinion that matters is your opinion.
I personally like what you are planning. My daughter recently had a 'chest piece' done and it was her own art. I think it's beautiful. Make sure you get a good artist to do it because something like that should not look like a prison tat...lol.

it'd be best to get it on the top fatty part of boob.

my wife has 2 chest tatts
she has a total of 21 tatts.
I only have 1 right now that my wife designed.
the next 1 I want is expensive to have done ,maybe some day i will.

you should think about what you want for awhile, are you going to regret it 10 yrs later
There are kids at work who have very little money, but get tattoos. In the next breath, they ask me if they can borrow money for lunch, cigarettes or gas. My answer - NO - they should learn to take care of priorities before luxuries.

It speaks to me because without the pain ive endured, I wouldnt be who I am today and no matter how hard things get, I can overcome any problem. This is a tattoo i'd never regret and thats why I think its prefect.
Will it make you happy? Does it mean something to you? Then DO IT.
Every bit of my ink is in reminder of something...usually someone. My latest is a song up my arm. It's all for me.
It is not my body or my place to tell you Don't do it, so I wouldn't discourage you unless I see you putting money toward a tat, that you could be paying bills with.
MAybe get a temp tattoo first to see if you like it, first. Good luck.
