Directed towards anyone who has used or is currently on the bar 


I’m going to planned parenthood in about a week to get it due to being trans and trying to stop my period 


 does anyone have any tips or slight warnings for it

I got the bar when I was 15 and it stopped my period to the point I got it once a year if that. I don’t think it helped being so young to stop the natural flow (so to speak) of hormones but if that is your goal I suggest it’s the best one for you

Boy am I glad I saw this post! Assuming that you're talking about the Nexplanon implant, my personal advice is DO NOT. At the very least, Google some reviews before you make your decision, because it stops periods in SOME people, but in others (which, if you read some reviews you will see seem to be the majority) they just keep bleeding/spotting for months on end and sometimes it just doesn't stop.

I said I'm glad I found this post because I'm currently going through the same thing- I had it implanted at the end of May, and I cannot wait to make an appointment to get it out. I haven't had a single day without bleeding since they put it in, and I'm beyond done, personally. Good luck with whatever you decide though!

They did tell me (at Planned Parenthood as well) that the Depo shot was the most effective for stopping periods, but you have to get them every 3mo I think, if that helps!
