This community is dedicated to an open discussion about healthy sex and sharing thoughts and feelings about sexuality and improving one's sex life. Most active adults desire to have an active and fulfilling sex life, both for themselves and also their partner. Here we discuss common sexual challenges faced by both men and women.
There are all kinds of things I find attractive. For me, once there's chemistry, I suddenly find pretty much everything about the person attractive.
He tells you you're beautiful but you don't see it in yourself.
I don't feel it's anyone's job to make someone else feel good about themselves. Give them compliments, tell them what you see in them that is attractive, encourage them to see their own beauty but when all is said and done, feeling good about yourself has to come from within yourself.
The grey in his Van Dyke
He has gorgeous blue eyes that always look so sad, even when he laughs, and for whatever reason, I just love his sad eyes.
He was a drummer when he was younger and did martial arts. His forearms are broad and very strong! Very attractive!
As to compliments and putting ourselves down, I learned a very important lesson many years ago. I had gained a bunch of weight and HATED myself, although he sincerely complimented me all the time, I was quite harsh toward myself and rolled my eyes at his compliments. Then he stopped. He got tired of being slapped down every time he tried to pay me a compliment.
For the next month my depression fell through the floor. I sobbed constantly and was convinced he hated me. We finally sat down and he told me what he was feeling. I told him how I felt.
He started back with the sincere compliments within the next week and instead of sarcasm, I thanked him.
I never knew how important those little compliments were, even if I could not see what he could. That's how I learned how to be gracious and grateful for all the things this man saw in me that sometimes I still can't see when I look in the mirror.
I still stay it all can be blamed on tv/magazine....we have a unrealistic idea of what is a perfect body. Or beauty. I try to remember the images I see are brushed....ummmm, I need to learn to brush my photos, lol!
