Years ago, when I was single, my best friend asked me to go along with him to pick his girlfriend up at her University. It had been a year since I had dated after breaking up with my former fiance so it was time for me to get back into the swing of things. I told him that I was rusty when it came to dating and jokingly suggested that I use an Australian accent to impress the ladies with. He enthusiastically agreed with me. Well I have never been to Australia, my family is from the South and I speak with a Southern twang. I told him that I would just play third wheel and leave the ladies alone but when we got to the College he introduced me as his Australian friend. I didn't want him to look bad so I started speaking with an Aussie accent. He grabbed his woman and the two left me alone with her Sorority sisters. They returned in about an hour only to find me surrounded by beautiful sexy women all begging me to read to them out of whatever book was available. They wouldn't leave me alone. Well one of the young ladies and I hit it off and started dating with me sounding just like an Aussie from down unda. She loved sex and we dated for about two weeks. I was feeling very badly about what the whole thing so I decided to come clean. So I said in a thick Aussie accent, "I'm sorry but I have something to tell ya. I'm not really from Australia', I reverted back to my original accent. "I'm from the South. Scott talked me into doing this and I got carried away." I sat there waiting to get slapped across the face or something. She looked at me for a few seconds then burst out laughing. "This is the best prank that's ever been played on me. I love it." Now it was my turn to be shocked by her response. She said that she couldn't wait to tell her dad as he was always puling stunts like this on people. I have to admit, it was pretty fun.

It can certainly add to the attraction. I'm particularly liking American lately.... not that I've heard any Americans in person recently, apart from on tv but it would be nice. The last American I heard was one doing a bad attempt at an Aussie accent.

no accents don't make my heart melt. I have to concentrate on what they are saying so I don't miss anything.. When we are in bed, it really doesn't matter what they are saying as long as they know how to please me.

I'm not turned on by any particular accent. Whether I like an accent or not depends on the accent. We all have an accent to some people just not to ourselves. When I'm in NC, as soon as I talk people know I'm from the northeast, some even know what part of PA I'm from due to the accent they say I have. Partner has lived in the south for over 30 years but has no southern accent, he still has the NJ accent.

A Queen's English accent is very sexy in a woman. A Latin accent is also very sexy in a woman. One of the reasons Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz turn me on. A French accent is also sexy in a woman. Sophie Marceau...Charlize Theron in her Dior commercials...Celine Dion...mmm...

my bf is from nicagaragua.. i dont know where in central america your from and if the dialect would be different or not...or maybe you do have an accent and no one has ever said anything to you?....
but his brother is also from nicaragua and in the couple times ive spoken to him he had an accent but wasnt as thick as my boyfriends.

i like to sometimes repeat what my boyfriend says back to him with my best attempt to mimick his accent, he thinks im making fun of him but im not. i love the way he talks.

I have a British accent (Manchester) but not broad, It has been somewhat bastardized, having lived tn CA for 7 years, my ex gf was from CA too, so I could'nt escape it :) wasn't so much the accent but the different meanings for common things, like I used to smoke, so I would go to the shop for some fags, and a butt is what you have left when you put out a fag :-)

I'm from NY.. I don't think I have an accent but when I leave the area, I'm told that I do.. The words cup of coffee usually give it away, or if I ask someone if they ate yet, the tell tale statement is - jeet yet? Which means - did you eat yet? I drop my r's on many words and will add r's to words that end in vowels...jus kinda a ny thing I guess..

Wonder if a ny accent is considered sexy to anyone or are people talking about exotic accents?

LOL :) I was just fooling around. :) I do supposedly have a widwest accent. :) I cant tell it , but I have been told. I think East Costers have the accents especially New Yorkers..

I do live in the central part of the America as in USA> :) so when glabal warming takes the costs away Ill have ocean front property :) LOL

I really love all sorts of accents my ex of 4 years had an accent though he swore he didn't he said not all east coast people have accents

I started up a conversation on face book about this and apparently I even have an accent. According to my Kentucky friends, Arizona friends and east coast friends I sound like a "Californian girl" or a "Barbie" whatever that means

Funny post... i have burst out laughing today. Just changed my phone the a Galaxy. So checking around for instructions on you tube.And i always pray not to run in to an English man as the only time you can understand them when they are singing. And i am saying this with the biggest accent of all, i can watch movies with subtitles , with all languages but i have a major issue watch a British, or Irish movie in full length. Oh..and lets include the after hour costumer support from India.

I'm a schmuck for an accent...there's s Brit I know that makes me occasionally crazy...and there was this Aussie.....not a fan of American southern, but toss a New England one at me?
