I must say, looking at your profile is rather telling. If you are emotionless or believe emotions should be controlled, I would imagine true intimacy would be difficult. If she loves you, you have to be open to receiving her love.

Who's to say what the intent behind a kiss should be? I kiss my partner for many reasons, different reasons at different times. I kiss him when I'm sad or upset about something and kissing him always makes me feel better. I kiss him when I'm happy about something. I kiss him when I'm horny and want to have sex for the physical. I kiss when I'm feeling passionate and want to have sex for the emotional closeness it brings. I kiss him when I look at him and realize how much he means to me, how much I love him. I kiss him when I wake up in the morning just to say good-morning. I kiss him before I fall a sleep at night to say good-night. I kiss him sometimes just because I'm in the mood for some good kissing.

Forced kissing is better than no kissing at all! I'd be grateful your wife is initiating something if I were you.

Not sure how you want it to feel "real" or "true" (maybe a little anger behind it perhaps?), but put some effort into it yourself. What you get out is what you put in.

I feel the same way as Leather. I give kisses for all sorts of reasons, all of them true with intent... to share an emotional connection.

It doesn't really matter who I kissing.... my son, my friend, my brother, my parents. I kiss because I feel affection and love toward them

I feel differently about it Kool. Forced kisses, obligation kisses, pity kisses, the same as obligation sex or pity sex, to me it's not better than none at all. With stbxh, I've had obligation kisses and sex, pity kisses and pity sex and I've had kisses and sex where it's what he really wanted with me. The obligation or the pity which was towards the end of our marriage was extremely depressing and IMO was the ultimate of rejection. I dealt with it for a while, tried to fool myself into thinking it's better than none at all but then faced my truth and knew for me it's better going without than having a partner initiate or just go along with it because he felt he should or felt he was obligated because he was my husband.

Some have a fear of intimacy and don't enjoy the act of kissing. My ex was that way, and I had to ask him for a kiss.
