If you want to date her, than date her. Don't move her in. Unless you put it all out on the table.
If this is to be a couple month/ temporary living arrangement, I can sorta get on board with that, with reservations.
My reservations, mostly that, you find each other attractive, and you're both on rebound (I know you said, you're not interested romantically). But if you guys slip out and it doesn't work out, it could make things awkward with your cousin.
Another thing to consider, if she starts dating, while living with you, will you be ok with that? What about her bringing guys back to your place? I know it's hard to imagine, but if she is gorgeous, she will have guys falling all over her. and if she is lonely, might be hard for her to resist... You might feel protective jealous, if stuff like that happens.
But again, if this is only temporary, and she pays her own way (and you have a backup plan, you pay your own bills if she leaves, or feel comfortable asking her to leave if things get uncomfortable), go for it!
I am meeting with them later to work out the details as far as how long, etc. From what she text me she is looking for something temporary, 6 months to a year, as her goal is to live on her own.
As far as friends coming over or partying or boyfriends or whatever that is stuff I am going to talk about tonight when we meet up.
Your fooling yourself into thinking you will not have encounters, either great ones or train wrecks. Bad set up in my opinion. Keep protection nearby and the pillows fluffed. (starts with pillow talk). Good luck!
The age thing, doesn't bother me much, at 23 I was pretty mature, responsible, more so than many I've dated my current age 46. I like that she's going into teaching. But yeah, be carful....
I feel good about this. I had already cleaned out my ex's crap, so the space is there for the taking. She is going to move in next weekend.
He has had several different ones over the past few years and it has always worked out well for them both. You just have to make absolutely sure that you lay down good mutually agreed upon ground rules and never cross those lines
My son and his roommates look out for each other, and if they ever do happen to go out on the town together they act as each other's wingmen so to speak. Never going as dates.
I personally think I would prefer to have a male roommate if I was to get one. They are more drama free and generally easier going in my opinion than women would be.
Good luck with it!!
Even if you're financially able to handle all bills, you WILL resent her for occupying your living space and not paying shit. Be prepared for this.
Otherwise, invest in a 6-month supply of rubbers just in case in a moment of weakness you both feel the urge to bone each other. Just don't get her pregnant! Then 6 months could turn into 18+ years!
And lay down the law with her about her NOT bringing OTHER guys, after a drunken night out at a club or whatever, back to your place to have sex with. I've heard that happens a lot with roommates and would be a total disrespect of you. If that happens, they can rent a motel room. You don't need to see it, hear it, or even know about it.
