Idk your situation but you are making sound almost rapy, but if this is how you perceive it I am sorry that you are feeling badly and I hope you can work this out with him.
Have you talked to him about this ?
like my opinion didn't matter anyway.
I am so cross with myself I let it happen.
Your posts indicate that you're not happy about that, it will take much strength to change the situation if he is used to you giving in to his every whim.
I've been intimate when I really really didn't want to.
this may come across sounding harsh but believe me its just my opinion and I don't mean it to come thatt way :
I believe that a person should be expected to please their mate even if they aren't up for it. within reason. I mean not if your sick or something like that.
but I feel its part of what you comitted to do when you committed to be theirs. also its the best way to help them not to stray.

Then shouldnt the partner wanting to initiate in turn be expected to respect their mates space and wishes of not wanting it at that moment?
Dont you commit to equality and respect -instead of ownership? Committing to someone doesnt make you their property (i.e. "be theirs").
Unlike what freakchic seems to imply, that is a real thing. No one is obligated to have sex with their partner if they do not want to. Sickness isn't the only "valid" reason for saying no. No means no, and if you don't want to have sex there is absolutely no obligation to. Certainly no one is owned in a relationship. My body is still mine, not my partners, and each time I have sex I am giving him a gift. Note I said a gift, not a payment or a due.
"also its the best way to help them not to stray" - Not only is this a complete misnomer, it's a dangerous thing to believe. Partners cheat or "stray" because of something inside of them. Certainly the circumstances of the relationship play a part for some, but to imply that saying "No" a few times to sex is a license to cheat is ridiculous. It is also detrimental to the self-esteem and worth of both parties. I have more value than just my body. Furthermore, that idea is completely incorrect. Some people cheat no matter how much sex they are having, others live in a sexless marriage without cheating, and everything in between.
People treat you the way you let them, and there comes a time when the finger has to point back at ourselves when we allow certain behaviors. Time to get a backbone, sister.
i also didnt say it was right what he did, each person is different and i also started by saying that it was fucked up what he did. as well as stating to begin with that it was an opinion, and that it would sound more harsh than what i meant it to sound...
guess its harder to figure out a persons intention/meaning when there is no tone of voice to convey that...
Don't feel ashamed of yourself, I have given the same concession to my spouse and expect the same in return.
for me personally it isn't a big deal. His wording was a tad lacking in compassion or intimacy but I often am the same way with my mate.
I have often had sex when I was really not in the mood and often demanded in a sexually teasing manner that he perform when I am in the mood. It is a give and take,
Most of all never be ashamed of what you did. You reacted in a giving way to your spouse, no shame in that. His approach might have been shameful in wording, so if it bothers you talk to him about it...but don't feel shame, shame implies you did something wrong and you didn't.
personally this situation wouldn't have phased me but we all have different levels of comfort and they should be understood.
I was simply offering up a viewpoint of equality among partners.
No one was attacking you for your opinion; this is a public forum that encourages discussion among peers and allows them to offer up different points of view as a means to enable critical thinking.
My whole point is that there cannot be unequal expecations without respective consequences.
Relationships survive and thrive based around each individual partners internal feelings of mutual respect. Obviously, the OP doesnt feel as though she were respected in this situation; therefore, her partners expectations shouldnt have to just be GRANTED.
