CAN you JUST be friends with him? DOES he WANT to try to be JUST FRIENDS after he kissed you? These are the questions I'd be asking myself, and him.
You didn't want it to get weird. It's already weird. Sorry, I got nuttin' else.
There was obviously interest in something, maybe he was always interested in sex and saw you prophesying relationship? I dunno.
What would be unfair and shitty would be to take the "goodies" and THEN tell you he only wants to be friends.
You didn't have sex with him, so why are you terrified to talk to him again? You have nothing to be ashamed of.... Just act like your normal cheerful self around him. I wouldn't bother trying to figure out what you did to freak him out, I would put it behind me and move on.
I also agree with Shastasue, just be yourself and don't worry about it.
Sounds like he just wants to put that day behind him.
It is really awkward after someone tells you they like you and you have to admit that you don't feel the same way.
He maybe interested in someone else and was worried he hurt your feelings .
