What's a Friend?

There is a post on this site called, My Friend which really got me to wondering what a true friendship is.

Does a true friend alert you when your bf's cheating?
Do they forgive and forget when YOU cheat with their bf?
Do they keep silent about a cheating bf and justify it by saying they don't want to hurt you?

What are the actions of a true friend?

True friends don't cheat. True friends have only YOUR best interests in mind. True friendship must be developed, shared and nutured. Friendship is built on trust. Forgiveness is very important as well, but we must avoid hurting our friends. Cheating however is a tough one to get past. My best wishes for a healthy future.

ATrue friend will tell the truth regardless of the consequences.
Atrue friend will be by your side when they are needed.
A true friend will not sleep with you boyfriend/husband
Atrue friend will tell when you are doing wrong.
a true friend will help you pray, even though they are not praying people.

Atrue friend will cry, laugh, and hug you when ever the time presents itself.

A true friend... Well, that would be someone who, when you are old and grey, sits next to you and remembers the good times, then remembers the bad times, then remembers the times you didn't speak at all. A true friend is someone who has stood by your side through thick and thin, someone who have been hurt by you and someone who has hurt you, and yet the friendship is strong and deep enough to survive, to learn and to evolve. Pretty much like a good husband or wife, without the passion. We are all human beings, we are going to hurt our friends, our family, our spouses. And that is why the Lord gave us the ability to forgive, and the ability to grow. A true friend makes the DECISION that, come what may, your friendship WILL survive. A true friend fights for you, stands up for you, forgives you. A true friend fights WITH you, against you, alongside you.
