I live in CA and he is stationed in SC. I'm finding it really difficult to cope with our distance and I'm not used to it. We don't talk frequently throughout the day, but in long chunks. I find that when we talk we spend so much time reminscing the time we first me and the what we are gonna do when we see each other again. I'm getting tired of that, but I find we don't have much to talk about, and I get bored and uneasy. And because it's not as exciting to talk to each other, I feel that I kind of go numb to us. But I know that when we see each other again, it's gonna be great again. This cycle is exhausting. I really like this guy, but we've only been together for a total of 6 months, and it's already getting like this. Can I get some tips on how to cope or just any advice really.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

How long did y'all date before he was stationed is SC?
And we've been together a total of 6 months, we met online, but we've met up twice now. I know this is a common problem in relationships so I want to change my mindset a bit, so we can both enjoy our relationship a bit.
Distance can really suck, but I have to wonder if rmb may have a point. Were you "together" before this distance? Or are you trying to start the relationship without any previous foundation of up close dating/friendship? That could be a pretty big strain, I reckon.
A lot of the time my boyfriend calls me without much to say other than, "well, I'm driving... erm... in that one place we went together... yup. Driving along," but my heart still skips a beat when I see my screen light up with his name. And this is over a year into our relationship.
If you're already feeling bored at 6 months, especially if there is no end to the distance in sight, perhaps it's time to reconsider your commitment. It's possible that you just don't have enough chemistry and compatibility to wait out the distance.
When will you see him again?
