Tearing Us Apart

My son is tearing apart my boyfriend and I. His behavior has turned my boyfriend feelings for me. My boyfiend has told me that now he looks and feels differently toward me. I don't know what to do. My son has stolen money from me and my boyfriend, and has been a bad influence on my boyfriends son who is a year younger. My boyfriend told me he cant bring his son over anymore and he is going to be moving out. I am crushed and now we are not talking. I don't know what to say to him. If I say sorry, it will only be the 100th time I said sorry for the things my son has done!

I think it's important to get to the bottom of why your son thinks it's ok to steal and that it won't be tolerated in the home. Your son is acting out, for some reason.

I have to agree the big problem here is why your son is acting the way he is. If his behvaior isn't addressed and some steps are not taken to try and solve his issues things in the future will most likely get worse. It won't matter if you are in a relationship or not because if you have to worry about your son's behavior your life will be consumed until some action is taken.

I am sorry to hear about your b/f but there is no need to tell him sorry again. You did not force your son to be this way but I think it says a lot when you take action in getting him help. And Now would be the time to see if you can get your son the help he needs and take it from there. Wishing you the very best:)

Thank you, I have taken him to seek counseling. It has only been a week so I am hopeful that this is a step in the right direction.
