i am so confused anymore and I feel at 40 I should have a little more clarity. I am in a relationship with someone for 14 years almost 15 - we don’t share much other than living in the same house and a daughter. Conversation is limited and when we have a disagreement I am called a lengthy amount of names. How does someone that says they love you able to be so quick to call such horrible names. I feel that I’m a strong person and perhaps maybe that’s why this crap rolls right off my back but I have had enough. I know what I want in life because I know who I am and have gotten to a place where I love me. I just want the same from a partner for us to balance each other when one is weak the other is strong. To match my effort and vice versa. Well that’s my idea of love anyway, not to be easy but to never forget you love the person and willing to fight for that love. I don’t have a lot of family that is good people and the ones that were have passed on so all I want is to build a family and love that I envision and have always wanted I don’t sit around feeling sorry for myself just want to keep moving forward and I feel like these days I’m drowning a bit.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

PS: I used to be a Nigel too...lol.
I think that both parties have to be willing to fight for a relationship and not bury their heads if it's simply no good
My ex SIL who's still a good friend decided she was going to fight for a relationship with a guy who treated her poorly for over 12 years.... He lied and cheated on a regular basis and he wouldn't live with her which is what she wanted more then anything
Finally he broke up with her..... Just a few months ago now and he's moving in with a woman.... So I think both parties have to want a relationship and we all deserve to be treated with respect
I think how we treat ourselves in a big part is how others treat us especially the 'significant other'
I agree with you that life is short.... It's shocking at a point how fast time moves.... Reach out for what you really want..... Another hug......xo
