I am 27 & for the last 18 months I have been in a sexual relationship with a 56 year old Catholic Priest.


I went to him for support &the relationship went from there. For 18 months I’ve lied, I’ve snuck around, I’ve deceived the people around me. He now will not commit to me, he has said on numerous occasions he will leave the priesthood & now he is saying he will not & cannot 


He will not allow me to talk to anyone as he fears he will be in trouble & they will destroy him. 


I am at a complete loss of what to do

You know what to do. Quit seeing him, talk to Diocese officials regarding the relationship.

I'm sorry you're in this situation. You need to take yourself out of it. He is using you 100% . He's a priest, and not a good one. But regardless of if you talk to Church officials or not you need to get yourself free and clear of this. It's obvious you're are tired of the lying and sneaking. Set things right with friends and family that has been lied to and ask for help and support. If that doesn't work for support then find a certified counselor. **hugs** You can do what needs to be done

What do you mean he won't allow you to talk to anyone? How is he stopping you? This isn't about what is best for him but what is best for you. You went to him for support and and he thought a sexual relationship was the answer. He is wrong! How many other people is he doing or has done this to? He is not good for you, the members or the church. He has gone against what he is suppose to believe and teach. He should be in trouble and he is showing he cares about himself and NOT you

so sorry, im also at a complete lost darling, but im here to support you! forgot him! his selfish, you should be too, do whats best for you :) not sure if that helps atm, but i really want to emphasis its okay to reach out, and sry to say, it sounds like he took advantage of you and from his end, he is the bad guy. And id seek out professional help!

He took advantage of his position. You went to him to seek support and he preyed on you.

Stop seeing him, start seeing a therapist to get some clarity on your situation.

He is an abuser. I urge you to watch The Seekers on Netflix. This man is taking advantage of you, and taking advantage of his position of authority. He has likely done this to many, many more.

Big hug for you Broken.... .. This relationship is no good sweetie.... No good will come of it..... I would break it off and if you want to stay in the same faith go to another church

I have no idea if he's ever done this before or not however it's messed up and you'll only get hurt.... It's a huge conflict of interest and he has misused his power as a priest..... xo

I agree that if you can go and see a therapist.... She/he can help you work through this...... It may have messed both of you up.... I don't know what this man is like.... I can only imagine that it would be a difficult vocation but what he's done is wrong and he knows it

Oh, those Catholic priests...the vow of cellibacy should be outlawed as far as I'm concerned, but until it is, leave him, wait 'til he leaves the priesthood if you wish to continue this relationship...if he ever does...he needs that money. At least he isn't molesting 12-year-old altar boys...we hope.

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
