Sometimes we all just need a hug..
Idk if I am a romantic.. I bring my SO coffee in bed to wake him up, a cook nice dinners for him, i rarely complain when he makes a mess or forgets to do something I ask but he is definitely responding to all the things I do or not do with quite a bit of going-all-out.
We are definitely affectionate towards each other.
He was basically raised by his mother and i was raised in a culture where courting women properly is greatly encouraged and advertized and women are suppose to behave in a way that they deserve this kind of approach.
I think you're wrong.
Because a thing is hard ..doesn't mean it shouldn't be done.
You're kinda letting yourself off the hook where your children are concerned with that " I accept I blew it, such is life, and so be it".
Anyway.. yes.. at heart ..I'm a romantic.

Or you wouldn't have mentioned your.. deficit..
Of affection.
I'm fifty something. My Dad and I have a strained relationship.
It means the world to me when he calls for no real reason..
And even manages to put an " I love you" into the conversation.
..It doesn't come naturally to him, either
( or myself.. where he is concerned)
That makes it SO worth the effort.
Time is passing.

Haha..
I'd keep doing it until it wasn't uncomfortable any more :-) :-) :-)
Affection is ...NICE

Even though I was starved for affection at home, I did become a very romantic and somewhat touchy-feely person myself. I value an affectionate nature in others. TENDERNESS is the word.
