Thanks, ladies.
We dont drive each other nutts whenever we're together for long. We're inseparable. Other than a week in the hospital post-delivery, we havent been apart for 4 yrs now. What can I say - love makes people do impossible.
As far as money you can find things like walks together at a local lake. Maybe a bottle of wine. I don't think a women should expect a man to take her to the most expensive restuarant every date. I hope this is of help.
He also goes out of his way to go to doctor appointments with me and I try my best to schedule them around work hours so we can go together. That's definitely bonding time.
I'm sure that in November, when we move in together, we will see even more of each other.
I'm in a free-lance profession, so my hours are sporadic (sometimes 7 days a week, sometimes 2 weeks without any work). I guess I'll have to tell this to anyone I meet and feel a connection with, and tell her that I really like her and want to spend as much time with her as possible. (sigh) The shuffle of life...
The "bottle of wine at a park" scenario sounds divine. There are beautiful sunsets at Quiet Waters, a mile from where I live-!
I'm definitely looking for someone who enjoys QUIET time. When work is stressful and chaotic, I think a relationship should be a completely relaxed and sedate safe haven, not so sedate that there's no sex, but...you know what I mean!
Most of the talk is about the importance of realizing how you interact with each other, keeping each other as high priorities even if you aren't around each other much by doing things like phone call check-ins, text messaging etc.
My fiance is in the process of fixing up the house for my daughter and I to move into and it is really tough because I almost never saw him....this brought about some kind of defensive reactions from me that I realized was based on my not feeling included in the process. Once I realized this I started being more proactive in my involvement and also in making plans for us to get together and it's been great, every wednesday we at least have lunch and or dinner alone (have his mom sitting) which is great.
Good luck! -- (I VERY highly recommend both of those books)
