I often dream of an old workplace. It looks different inside and the area of town it's in looks different, but the same people are there. I had some major life changes happen while working there, which is why I think I keep dreaming about it. They didn't happen at work, just during that timeframe. I had my heart broken several times and also met and married my husband while working there. Last night I dreamed about my husband and I sort of reconnecting (our anniversary is coming up and we were talking about our plans before bed last night) and in the dream, I walked down to the place I used to work and looked around inside. Everyone was having a meeting, so I didnt talk to anyone, just saw them. I keep in touch with a couple of these people, but not regularly. Has anyone had a place keep turning up in their dreams? I'm not really big on dream interpretation, but I find it interesting that this place keeps coming up.
I have recurring places in dreams too. Several of them. I won't get into them now, but what I interpret them as is something dealing with my infrastructure-- the way I'm "built" as an emotional or as a conscious being.
A "place" isn't usually so much about a physical location,but an emotional place of being. Your old work was during some formative years, it sounds like, and you are revisiting that now. Maybe because you are just doing some good healthy life-review, or maybe because there is a lingering need to be formative once again perhaps?
The thing to remember with interpretiing any dream is to remember that the language of dreams is highly symbolic. The place is a symbol of something (a formative time), the people there (I would guess that each one stands for some aspect of yourself), the fact that they were in a meeting (aspects of self coming together), and you didn't participate (no need for you to be there, it's taking care of itself)...
I tend to think it's healthy review of your life, having an anniversary et al.
