Hello all,
I am new to this group because I really think that I need good advice on healthy relationship building. I am a Codependent with pretty severe Anxiety. I start therapy next week, but the guy I'm seeing is already in therapy dealing with some issues that he has. We have both agreed that we both have problems that need to be dealt with on an individual level, but I feel that I need some good advice on how to build a healthy relationship as well since every other relationship I have been in has been toxic. The relationship I am in currently has been toxic, but ever since we both decided to get professional help and be on the same page, it has been shown that the relationship can actually work out. My specific question for everyone is this: how do you keep yourself from overthinking in a relationship? Like playing out certain scenarios that probably will never happen, but always could?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

If you are codependent with severe anxiety I doubt at this time you're in the right headspace to build a healthy relationship and I say that with the utmost respect for you
I think what you're doing in seeking help through therapy is courageous and a wonderful gift for you
I think gaining good self esteem and confidence through working on yourself will help all of your relationships with people in all walks of life
I wish you well... Big hug....xo
