a man after my own heart
just an example
one of my most favourite things about living --
researching and reading about the geography, politics, history and culture about a place before travelling there
and my favourite way of travelling is spending a summer (2 months off work) LIVING in the country, renting an apartment, shopping with the locals, getting to know my neighbours, for a short while just having the experience of living like one of them and asking THEM where they took day trips to that they loved
life is so short, and there are so many places to go, so many things to do, so many relationships to have
:)
You can choose to floor it on the highway to get to the beach or you can take the back roads and drive through little towns, stopping sometimes.. Then the trip becomes enriched with memories you wouldn't have otherwise.

agreed
So I go for real knowledge, and don't need to experience everything. I can learn from others who share their experiences with me. I know a heroin overdose is fatal and I don't have to experience that to know that, as others have experienced it and are not here to tell about it.
Yes, experience teaches us knowledge and wisdom through PAIN lol. And that's how we learn from experience, what NOT to do again in the future.
Problem with too much knowledge (and experience) is it causes us to close our minds and hearts, for fear of experiencing more pain. But pain is part of life, and, with pain, comes pleasure (!).
:)
and i'm for both, equally, i get as jazzed listening to great musicians, scientific researchers, philosophers or the dalai lama talking about things i'll never experience but can be deeply moved or excited as hell by,
as i do sitting quietly meditatin in a forest, hanging on for dear life on a boat in a gail, or giving birth...well, ok the childbirth might have been a much more intense experience
but you get my point
:)
But, I totally get your point.
Little, big...all of it adds up to who we are.
My condolences on you ladies having to experience childbirth. Hopefully that sweet kid smiling at you afterwards made it well worth the PAIN of passing a bowling ball through a tiny slot!
i'm sure youve helped a few ladies learn something worthwhile ;)
