This guy at work is nice and always says please and thank you. Well lately he's been putting smiley faces in every email to me. Now he wants to talk me to lunch. No one I've worked with has ever taken me out to lunch or puts a Smiley face in every email sent. Is this inter office flirting?? I've never encountered this before. If it is I'm totally flattered! Or is he just that nice of a person? Or am I thinking to much into this because I find him attractive and I'm single and I think he is to.

I'd say you have to go to lunch to find out : P don't read too much into the smileys just yet, you'll get a better feel of his intentions if you spend some more time with him...as of right now, your just two workers going for a lunch. Just see from there : P ..maybe I'm old fashioned, but if he offers to pay for lunch, that's probably a good sign : P then again, probz just being old fashioned lol

I agree with jonroland.. if your interested in finding out, then talking at lunch will be the next step. Are there rules about interoffice dating? At lunch would be time to find out what's on his mind and if he is single.
As jonroland said, don't read too much into the smileys. Do you actually see each other during the day? Is he getting his work done?

Got me curious now too.

I don't think I met him if I did it was years ago my company has thousands of people but our pictures are up in the company directory. I've never had anyone in the company like this to me. My coworker thinks he's totally flirting by our emails to each other. And based on the work I do for his role they never take us out to lunch.

Do you email each other as part of your jobs?? Or did he just see your picture in the directory and start emailing you on a personal basis?

If you are 100 percent sure he is a single guy... Lunch in a public place sounds good to me

The fact that you're flattered by this means you're normal. Many women in western society would find this kind of thing creepy and call it sexual harassment unless the guy is gorgeous looking. Idk, maybe youre only ok with it because he's good looking but I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you would be even if he wasn't. If this behavior was more acceptable, it wouldn't be so ridiculously difficult for men to find dates after college.

Oh I'm totally flattered!!! He is cute but then again I would be to if he wasn't. I've had many people at work tell me how great I am etc. And normally they let my boss know and then the boss let's me know. But I just feel like this is a more than that. Only because these guys don't do these things and invite u to lunch according to a few of my coworkers. They keep it professional and the smiley faces to a minimum. So naturally I flirted back.
