This is going to be lengthy, but I needed to let this out because I don't trust anyone to truly say how I feel. SO. I'm young. I'm a 20 yr old female and I've been in a relationship for 3 years going on 4 years soon! I've been with my boyfriend since high school(16 yrs old). I was a virgin and just new to the whole long term relationship. I've recently been doubting EVERYTHING. Our relationship is great and I am so in love with him. He's honestly so different than other guys this generation. Such a gentleman, treats me the best. We are that couple that seriously gets “Couple goals” “When’s the wedding” “You guys are perfect”. I’ve never asked to get labeled this either. It just comes from everyone. It puts so much pressure and the reason is lately I’ve been feeling MAJOR temptation. I haven’t acted on anything other than harmless flirting. Sometimes I think that I possibly gotten into a relationship too young before I actually had time to EXPLORE and be young, you know? He was my first everything except kiss. I’m CURIOUS. And I have no idea what’s missing in my relationship to make me feel this way. I’m stuck. But here’s the kick. Me, him, and his mom are supposed to be moving to a state across the United States from where we reside now by the end of 2021. I am SO close with his family ESPECIALLY his mom. I don’t want to cut this move, or lose this relationship I’ve formed with his family. And I know it’s dumb but I don’t want to be that couple where EVERYONE is shocked that we broke up bc they thought we were “end game”. I know they say if it’s meant to be it’ll always come back, however what if it doesn’t? What if he moves without me and then we are literally thousands of miles away from eachother? He’s literally the best guy I could end up with, and I’m over here thinking if I should end it to just get the young dating and experience life I didn’t get to have or find a way to tough it out since that’s the cycles of a relationship. I just don’t want temptation to engulf me and I end up doing something I REALLY regret. I just don’t know how much I can take. The stress of other things(school, work) are beginning to cloud my judgements and I’m calling out for advice before I fuck myself over. I need the crucial advice. Lay it on me please.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Emphasis on what other people think sends me into tailspins every time. You hit one of the most important points in my own 39 year marriage in your first sentence. "I don't trust anyone to truly say how I feel." This is especially true when I don't know how I feel, myself. Keep your assumptions and power of suggestion to yourself, please. Nobody else can work my relationship for me and what other people think is not real relevant in my private affairs.
It takes two healthy, well-developed individuals to create solid relationship. When I find myself questioning my relationship with my spouse, I shift the focus to my own issues and personal development. DS is a big site with lots of emotional support available for that task. I hope you'll take the time to surf around and see what might resonate for you.
Welcome aboard.
What other people think about your relationship, or what they think if you break up is really not relevant. What is relevant is how you feel, what makes you happy and what you need for yourself right now. Moving across the country with him and his mom? You guys are adults. Having his mom so closely involved seems strange to me but that’s me. At your age, me and my peers couldn’t get away from our parents fast enough. I just feel like if things go south after you move, they will have each other and you will be on the outside. I’m sure his family is great but when push comes to shove, it’s his family.
Now to sound like an old person giving advice: if you are lucky, life is long. The stuff that I went through with relationships and love in my early 20s are sweet memories. That’s it. There is so much to experience and do and learn. Always listen to your instincts. Always.
Go into a conversation with an open mind.
Be able to let him go to live a happy successful life if that is what you need.
You will either grow together or grow apart, no one can tell you what is going to happen.
You want your relationship to be strong and healthy keep it open and honest, Be willing to talk about the things that are uncomfortable. Such as you feeling like you need to live in the world. Everyone goes through that feeling some survive others don't.
No one but you knows how you feel sweetie … Just because he's a good guy doesn't mean he's the guy you want to be with forever
It sounds like you're having doubts and it's okay to have doubts....It's even okay to decide you want something or someone else in your life
I would just try and be honest about what you're feeling for both of your sakes otherwise you'll probably resent 'him' in the long run
Big hug of support while you work through it......xo
However, if it is passion you are missing in your relationship, it is just not going to work and you will always wonder.
Have you ever spent any time apart? Like weeks at a time without contact?
Maybe this would be the best way to tell if he is the one.
I can tell you this - I had lots of different men and relationships, and my life would have been much different if I married my first boyfriend. However, I loved him. I couldn’t see myself with anyone else.
The problem is - someone you are in love with doesn’t always love you back and doesn’t always treat you well.
It is a gamble.
I say - spend a month a part and see how you feel about him not being a part of your daily routine.
If he loves you, he will understand.
