No relationship is perfect. A long-term relationship requires constant effort to understand each other, fix misunderstandings, solve problems and continue to grow as both individuals change and evolve. Even though I have only been married once for a long time in a bad marriage, I know I have had some really messed up relationships in my life. So now I am doing some really honest self examination and am doing the work to rectify the problems and patterns I can see in my own life, so that I can hopefully have this one final shot at true happiness and a healthy relationship, and companionship in the later part of my life.
I think we can only hope for that if we are prepared to face our own truths for ourselves. Not for anyone else. JMO

The above list, is a list of things that Children do and ways they behave. She goes on to say that "part of our growth experience should be about noticing our behavior and taking corrective action - not in a self-deprecating way, but in a supportive way of wanting to become a healthy adult."
What I"m getting at is that in order to have a healthy relationship you have to be healthy yourself.
