How long have your been together and what attracted you to him. Is he a good father and even if you don't stay together will he be part of your child's life?
He has been very helpful when he's been here, but the sacrifice of parenting has been with me - a single mom even while in the relationship. He does pay child support and more than he has to.
He loves our daughter but it's more the showy kind vs being in there for the hard stuff and the daily grind.
If we aren't together he'll have visits with our daughter as usual, but supervised.
He was a very kind hearted and generous person when I met him. And he was very reliable and I could count on him in a lot of ways. Those are some of the things that attracted me to him.
Re: my having a head start in counselling ... I've had a head start for over two years now, on and off (during stressful periods) as a result of my frustrations with this relationship.
Maybe if you guys try and go together from that angle, you will find that you truly are meant to be together.
