Healthy Relationships Support Group
No relationship is perfect. A long-term relationship requires constant effort to understand each other, fix misunderstandings, solve problems and continue to grow as both individuals change and evolve. How we deal with our misunderstandings is the focus of this community. Join us to find support, get advice, and share your experience with your relationship.
Other than that, why stop the friendship?
Plus, you can still be friends with someone to whom you can not reciprocate the feelings, you just can't take advantage of their kindness, that's all ( like run and cry to them every time you break up with another guy, etc )
If he is halfway decent and understanding he will realise you need time, and he won't pressure you for anything more.
Just relax and enjoy it as it is now, and if he makes a move to try to take it further, just explain to him that you enjoy his company, but for now friendship is all you can cope with. If he is a really good guy, he will appreciate who you are and choose to keep on being your friend. I am so happy for you, if you can have a friend like that, they can be so invaluable and helpful in the healing process.
As Aronia said, you just don't want to use and abuse his friendship. Good luck my friend and enjoy the friendship!!
