I needed a place to get advice where it was outside my family and friends that see my four year relationship daily. Everything was fine until last summer, he started getting emotionally abusive and would say really mean things to me. (I don't want to get into specifics just yet). Whenever we get in really bad fights he will ignore me for a week and I won't hear from him at all. Lately, I've been torn between ending our relationship or trying fix it. Tonight, I deleted all my social media because that's our main source of where our fights start. We just had a really bad fight about me going to the beach for spring break. It ended up in me leaving and crying because he kept saying hurtful things to me. I'm really torn. I've prayed, talked to friends, my mom, everything. So I hope this is a safe place where I can get some helpful advice.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

From my experience, when relationship is bad, it wasn't really fine from the beginning. There were signs from the very start, but sometimes we don't see them until things develop further.
One major indicator that the relationship is toxic is when people who you trust - family and friends - all tell you that you need to break it off. These people are usually right.
In all relarionships there are two parties to blame for the way it goes down and two parties to commend for the success.
Without knowing details it is hard to say what's happening . My question would be : when did the name calling start and do you also engage in name calling ?
Also what is the core subjects which cause your arguments ?
No relationship is always good however I think some things are deal breakers.... If you are both very involved in your church I would at least think of perhaps having some relationship counselling.... This type of behaviour of lashing out in order to cause pain can really snowball if it isn't stopped
Ignoring you etc is passive/aggressive and childish
I wouldn't move forward without some help and change..... Big hug and a blessing.....xo
If you both plugged into it this may be able to be turned around..... Big hug......x
I really appreciate all that's been said. I honestly didn't know if online groups would work or not. It helped my mom in the process of grieving over her boyfriend that passed away last April. I know my relationship issues do not amount to that loss, but I needed to do something. I want to get into therapy for myself. I would try counseling with my boyfriend, but he's already told me numerous times he's "never going to have someone give advice on a relationship they're not in" - like I said he is SO HARD to communicate with.
Please some help and post here as much as you want. This is a safe place. There is also a codep support group and may others you might want to check out.
Big Hugs
