It sounds like you have your head on straight and that you are taking care of you!
I'm really just looking for ways to be happy even though I will be "alone". Which is funny because I've felt alone for a long time in my relationship and marriage. I am focusing right now on the positives in my life. Great friends, loving family, my 1 year old nephew who's just started walking, a good job that pays pretty good and a roof over my head. I've started there.
My friend has used a pie analogy with me. She divides her life into pie sections. Job, family, health etc. she's like if your not happy with part of your pie, it's not the end of the world as long as most of the pie brings you joy. You can always make changes and your pie will be complete. What parts of the pie really matter to me?
I'm not healthy, so I'm going to focus on eating better, getting out for fresh air and exercise and start there. I know that will change my mind frame and will be good for my heart. I've considered joining a class or walking group to meet new people. My favorite hobby is reading so I fill my time with great books. Keeping busy enough so I don't think too much. Does this make sense?
I have to learn confidence and be happy in my body now, even if I don't like it. Otherwise people will sense my bad energy and that's the opposite of what I want. I can change my body, but I need to love it first and accept it. In case it never does change
I'm sorry it had to get to that point at all, but I'm very glad you are taking care of you first - and doing what you believe will be best for YOU in the long run. It takes a lot of courage to actually take that step and I know it can be scary.
Congratulations of the first few steps of a new, exiting journey.
Good luck!!
Though, I suppose exiting isnt exactly wrong, haha
