Just try to be yourself and maybe just start with small talk. How is she? weather....something else you both my be interested in......
When someone takes in a person who is at the lowest low of their life, there’s are consequences that go with it. I m not sure if she was aware of these consequences.
What do you think about that subject ?
Love comes in different shapes and lengths..
what do you bring into the relationship and what does she bring into the relationship?
You are just trying to figure your life out and it is confusing and stressful.
She may not understand that having a child with a person who is just starting to figure out who they are is not a good idea .
Usually when people end up with an addiction problem and homeless, there is a lot of personal growth to be done to become and stay a stable, secure individual.
Maybe you can tell her something like - I love you and I want to be with you, you gave me a great start to change my life, but I need to work on myself first before I can be a good partner and a good parent. Without that growth, our relationship will fail.
I need you to be patient while I go through this process and not pressure me to move into more serious stages of our relationship.
In the mean time, establish AA group, get a stable job, even if it doesn’t pay much, get a job that makes you feel good about going there.
Establishing a routine is very important for sobriety.
Try to address the problems that led you to the streets to begin with.
We all have a lot of shit from the past , but unless we approach it mindfully and thoughtfully, it will continue to haunt our relarionships, our futures.
Having a partner who is pushy is detrimental to sobriety.
My bf is an addict. It takes years to change.
Sometimes I think it would be better for him if I wasn’t there, because I am a mature, grown up person and he isn’t not ready for me and what it takes to have a healthy relationship.
