You have to understand that the good times ebb and flow. The strength of a marriage is not how good the good times are but rather how the two of you weather the hard times. Just remember daily why you love your partner, let him know that you love him, understand each others struggles, always acknowledge that you are on the same team, win or lose.

Sounds like you are doing things right. A true sign of emotional maturity is being able to forego instant gratification for long term goals. Keep up the good work.
Probably the best wedding present we rec’d was a set of handmade wooden trays. They have a note on the back. Never go to bed on an argument. When the rough times come, wife cook a nice meal and serve it with love. Talking, sharing and breaking bread together are soooo important. We always sit down and eat together-especially after we had five children. We had many a person to come eat with us simply because we sat down at our round table. We ate (often simple food) and shared conversation afterward till everyone was full of food and good fellowship.
I pray the richest of God’s blessings upon your marriage. You are on the right track. God bless you and your husband as you share this journey.
I'm not married anymore but when I was, we used to do this thing called "Shmily." It stood for "See how much I love you." We would take turns hiding a "shmily" around the house or various places. It could be things like leaving a little piece of paper that says "shmily" on it in his car or football bag to find when he's out. Or write it on the mirror when it's all steamed up after a shower for him to find the next time the bathroom is steamy.
You could send random texts throughout the day just to say, "thinking about you." Or rub his feet when he gets home from a long day. You could also get a bunch of pieces of paper and each write things on them that would make you feel loved. Then fold them up and put them in a mason jar (one for each of you). Then each morning you would draw out a piece of paper and do whatever it said on there (written by the other person).
Those are just a few ideas. :-)
