I wanted to share an experience from yesterday and get a little feed back.
I'm currently involved in a committed, loving relationship with a magnificent woman! We've been together for 2 1/2 years now. It took both of us a lot of our lives to finally discover one another...remember that song..."God bless the broken road.." Anyway, that's a story for another time, just a little background as to where we are in our relationship.
Yesterday some unflattering comments were made toward my girlfriend by another person that made her angry, embarrassed, and upset.
We spent the day on the river. A large group of us all took our boats out and tied up together to make a nice little Floatilla. These are mostly house boats and cabin cruisers. There were probably close to a dozen couples so quite a few folks. Very lively, lots of food, music, and laughter. Most of us hang out on a regular basis and are good friends but there was a new couple we had invited to join us. It was sunny and warm and so there was lots of sunbathing and swimming going on meaning it was swim suit time. With that many folks as you can imagine, there were people of all shapes and sizes...something as a group of friends never enters your thoughts because you're so accustomed to being around each other. My girl friend was wearing a bikini. She's very fit and drop dead gorgeous!
(((Thumper sticks chest out with pride)))LOL
Exercise and being healthy is a lifestyle for us...I know the work and discipline she puts into it to sport the rockin bod she's got.
Now...she wasn't wearing a thong or anything like that but it was a rather "Cheeky" bikini if you know what I mean. One of the other ladies was wearing one very similar and also had some unkind remarks made toward her as well.
This new couple I mentioned. The woman was apparently offended by their swim attire and made a couple of comments to them such as...don't your boyfriend/husbands mind you running around half naked...and also suggested they'd be more comfortable with a cover-up on. We later learned this lady made comments to others when we weren't around that my girlfriend dressed like a slut and was whorish. We didn't learn this until the end of the day after they had left.
All that is to say...it's really upset my girlfriend and made her self conscious. Outwardly she just acts pissed and says "screw her!" But I can tell it's bothering her. We're supposed to go out again today and she's already said things like, she's got enough sun yesterday and isn't going to lay out or swim today.
We figure this lady obviously has insecurity and jealously issues but it pisses me off!
I've reassured her and been supportive...told her to wear whatever she felt comfortable in.
I know this is really petty but I don't like seeing her upset in any way.
I don't think that new couple will be coming back today but if they do I'm going to chuck that bitch right off the boat into the water and throw her an anchor to hold onto!!

Woke up feeling very emotional and about to clock in at my place of employment. And can't place it all in writing but not been a good experience with my store manager or his boss. Defamation of my character is a concern. I've been losing appetite and weight. Trying to perform at work to keep myself from hospitalization as a result of toxic masculinity.

But I don't blame your girl for being upset about someone saying she dresses like a whore. I'd be more upset if this woman said this to others who are your friends and none of them told this woman to shut her mouth.
Anyway, I hope your girl just wears whatever she pleases. The best revenge is not giving a shit.
I would encourage your girlfriend that this anger as nothing to do with her what so ever... Anger comes from the inside out... This lives within this woman and it would be a miserable thing to live with
The old saying is very true 'misery loves company' ... Don't join her...
I would just say "I like my bathing suit and I'm very comfortable"
Big hug....xo
"Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people."
the way this woman went about it , crass & mean
type of swim attire = possibly offensive, offense in in the eye of the beholder
think Stripes "lighten up Francis"
being an asshole like the woman = always offensive
I completely understand your gf's lack of desire to return the next day. Why surround yourself with negative energy like that.
