He works every day, when is he suppose to rest? He needs a break from family and career, to connect with his close friend, to remember who he really is without daily stressors. Part of not losing yourself in a relationship is doing things like that.
If you say " no" to this, i really believe he is going to resent it.
This is a major decision you are making here, please try to put your emotions aside and think about what would be good for him as a human being. I know it costs money, but this is something he will remember forever.
In my opinion being SAHM is much better than working two jobs. I ll take being home with kids over work . Work is extremely stressful. No one can fire you from being a mother, no one gives you performance reviews or writes you up for being late.
If this was an overnight drunken frolic the next town over, I may support the going out situation. But if this is a long weekend say 3 to 4 days out of country? I agree it's a bit extreme.
If I were pregnant with my fourth (or even my first) child, I would want the father to be around. Pregnancy puts stress on a marriage, even when the child is wanted. I'm not sure it is a good idea to let him galivant with the boys, because men tend to encourage other men to forget their responsibilities, cheat "just this once", get drunk, and other non-family activities like strippers, call girls, etc.
I may be overly cynical, but I believe the saying: "Men are only as faithful as their options."
