Healthy Relationships Support Group
No relationship is perfect. A long-term relationship requires constant effort to understand each other, fix misunderstandings, solve problems and continue to grow as both individuals change and evolve. How we deal with our misunderstandings is the focus of this community. Join us to find support, get advice, and share your experience with your relationship.
But you are still very young and will go thru many changes in the next 5 - 10 years. So it may not last long term.
However, there are no guarantees in any relationship. Even if you are close in age there are no guarantees.
I say just enjoy yourself and see what happens!
Good Luck!!
As long as youre both okay with the age difference, dont look too much into it - otherwise youll only create unnecessary complications all on your own.
If it works out, awesome - if at some point you decide your lives are headed in two different directions, then thats cool too. Just enjoy what you have for right now :)
Go for it and enjoy life while you can!
When I was 21 I dated someone who was 45. It lasted for a year. I got bored. Friends and interests varied to much. We realized that after the infatuation faded (about 8 months into the relationship)
I dated someone around my own age when I was in my mid 20s. that might have worked out, but he had a heart attack and passed away.
So, I don't think age matters. Getting to know the person and having like interests helps to form a bond.
Wondering if a relationship will work, questioning the age difference and using the words mature and wanting to settle down don't seem like the relationship is there yet.
Sounds like you may be in the beginning stages. Give it time, let love blossom - or not.. Time will tell. What's your rush?
