I think the most important thing is would be that you are happy together as a couple and can clearly communicate, respect each other and be there for each other when it counts. Don't settle for anything less then that. Being picky is certainly alright, however if it begins to dominate your life in every aspect you most likely will never settle down with anyone. It all depends on what you as an individual can live with. Sometimes you have to give in a bit to see greater rewards down the road. Best you can do is take chances with people and see how it goes.
Anyway focus on what is really important to you in a relationship as well as things that you feel you do not like and find out if these are things you might be able to live with or not. Wishing you the very best in your pursuit of happiness and finding the right now:)
I was with my ex 6 years and always suspected cheating...in the 6th year i got proof but should have ended it way before
Always make what you want a priority and know you deserve the best
Being irritated because they are never on time is an example of someone's personality not meeting your standards.
I've been asked this question by people from friends to my own Mother who was dating again after a 22 year marriage.
I found the simplest reply was, "Once you get past the endorphin rush of the new love possibility, take time to see the person for all that they are. If you find you still have a healthy love for the person, clearly seeing their faults and are able to adjust to their faults,.....carry on! You have just fell in love with a whole human being, and this is the same love that you deserve in return."
But don't go into a date with a checklist in your head, looking for the perfect person for you. Love doesn't care what we think we want. Get to know your date. Ask yourself, "would I like to spend more time with this person?" There will be aggravations. Can you put up with them? Most other questions are basically superficial and ultimately irrelevant. Don't think too much, just see if you enjoy yourself.
