I don't really have any advice per se but my family moved around a lot when I was growing up! I attended 10 different schools before graduating. It was tough always being the "new girl" but it taught me valuable life lessons about adaptation, cultivating genuine character and not taking anything for granted. It taught me to see that everything is in constant flux, always moving, changing, morphing into what's next and not to get too wrapped up in any one thing or person or moment because it's all impermanent and that's not just Ok, it's Wonderful! Every moment is a new chance to make something beautiful.

It sounds like you are a loving mother and wife! I think as long as your home and family life is secure and loving, the kids will be ok regardless of what challenges life brings (this is true whether you move around a lot or not, I think).

I have never done this before but make it as an adventure for the kids and say that you are going some place new to explore the USA for a time this will be fun for them. Good Luck

Good luck! I think it will teach your kids to adapt and be flexible to new situations. I think way too many parents are just the opposite in that they won't move at all until their kids turn 18 because they fear how negatively a move will impact their kids. The truth is that kids are resilient and a move can be tough at first, but most kids adapt easily. I changed schools twice while growing up and it took adjusting, but I would never say it had a negative impact on my life. If anything, it taught me valuable life lessons and I didn't have to wait until age 18 to experience my first big move and making all new friends. (Actually I think it would be harder to do this for the first time at an older age!)

Thank you all, I appreciate your encouragement and wisdom. I agree, we really want to make it an adventure for us and the kids. Our oldest is 5 and I think he already has some fear over not seeing friends (even though, he doesn't see them much anyways :p) and he just got established at the public school this year. He may be a little sentimentalist, like me lol. But he has shown to be adaptable, as you've mentioned. The other two are younger and I know wherever he is, they will be fine.

I was also moves many times and changes a lot of schools.
It is very stressful.
I think as adults we have it easier because we make our own choice and have time to think about the move and analyze the cons and pros.
Kids have zero control over the move, they do not think far in the future many times.
I would think than including your kids as much as possible in certain decision making during this process would be good.

We moved allot as kids too. 7 schools to graduate. It was so hard to change schools in the middle of the year. Different school, different curriculum. If you have too, at least make sure the move is in the summer. They loose friends each time they move, there is grieving to deal with.
