Upon his departure, he remarked, "I am in many people’s pockets; no one will believe you." Have you ever grappled with the silence that follows sexual assault, where the perceived impossibility of being believed necessitates self-censorship?

This website tends to go into a dead zone around holiday time. Hopefully they'll all be back.
I don't celebrate holidays anymore. In fact I avoid going anywhere due to all the drunk driving on our local roads. But I try to stay busy to avoid the holiday blues. Just baked some oat bread with walnuts for lunch and I worked on my compost this morning.
I really don't either, as one member put it, cynical and for sure the drunk driving.
But don't get too pumped over these groups, a lot of them fizzle out fairly quickly...and then drift forever in cyberspace...LOL. I do think this is a GREAT idea for a group.
I did NOT take a walk.
On the positive side, I did not drink alcohol or eat turkey. And I had plain lowfat yogurt with Uncle Sam cereal and a little honey for two out of three meals.
But if I stay on my regular food of whole grains, veggies, etc....no sugar cravings and I'm content with things.,,and no dental problems. And I really enjoy my meals, I truly do. Sugar is like a drug for me...my dad used to keep condensed milk in the fridge and I had a real weakness for that stuff...so much sugar in that. I won't go anywhere near it now...LOL...I'm just too weak when that stuff is around.
I've been working out with weights and eating protein snacks like peanuts and soy milk lately to try to regain some of the muscle mass I lost from being sick. Seems to be working, I'm getting stronger and I have more energy and more positive thoughts. Jack Lalanne worked out for hours every day right into his nineties and he stayed as strong as an ox. He also ate organic food and lots of veggies.
Jack's kind of a personal hero to me, he was a truly great human being who inspired several generations of fitness and healthy food people.
I remember Jack, he was awesome! I had such admiration for him.
I should know better to not eat sweets, being a dental hygienist for ten years. I know about those extractions!! I've had a couple myself, and they aren't fun at all. The key is BRUSH..FLOSS..BRUSH..FLOSS....
I lost ten pounds of (muscle mass) the month of my heart attack. Now it has been replaced with fat. Today I had found some videos on yoga. My left wrist has a fracture, splinted so weights no can do. I am still weak.
This is such an awesome group Doo, hope it does well, and doesn't disappear into *cyberspace* lol. and oh I remember Jack too. I had a real admiration for him as well. Cool man. Very optimistic, and positive outlook.
