I would like to read the bill myself without anybody "interpreting" it for me, because so much has been twisted and turned on both sides, I do not know what to believe. I remember when the ERA got voted down because of all the negative hype and misinterpretation, and then when I got my hands on the proposal itself and read it, the thing was so simple and direct, it was amazing.

I would love to do the same, only this bill is over 1,000 pages and I do not think the average person get get through it all or understand it all.

On Obama's website it says the bill would put an end to ANY refusal to cover ptre-existing conditions.

The one thing that I do know is that it makes no difference what Obama says because he has his own health care plan as does the whole lot in the government. None of them will be under the plans they are trying to force down the American people's throats. Their health benefits will not be effected in any way.

I figure if they want to push any kind of health plan at all they need to drop their own and use the same plans they are wanting us to use. Just my thoughts mind you.:)

It specifically says "treatment will be withheld from those with dementia." Pisses me off. I want my HUSBAND and CHILDREN to be the ones to decide when I no longer receive treatment. Not some regulation passed by this nasty, mean, despicable, lying bunch that has been inhabiting congress since Pelosi took over. Ugh!

True Katie - Obama is excluded, congress is excluded, unions are excluded (SEIU included), ACORN is excluded. Does anyone see else see a pattern, 'sides me?

Cliff - You are correct. Cannot exclude pre-existing conditions. It also says insurance companies cannot cap your claims, so you are not limited to $1M in claims as usual.

So, do you also realize it says nothing about capping the premium they can CHARGE YOU? Nor does it say how you are supposed to come up with the money to pay that premium?

So, everyone will have access to healthcare. Everyone will NOT be able to afford it. Especially if they keep squashing capitalism and we continue losing industry.

I always liked industy. I fed my family with it. Sure couldn't get a job with a rich brother-in-law. Didn't have a rich one!

Obamacare is supposed to be essentially what the guys on Capitol Hill have now, with a sliding premium scale so everyone can have it. Nobody is forcing this on us -- I don't understand comments to that effect. I see real hope that it will force private insurers to control their costs and premiums better so they can stay in business. Hope, not a guarantee.

I want to add that there's one good reason I know for withholding treatment for dementia: there ARE no good treatments.

I am on disability and so I get medicare and medicaid. Right now I am trying to get as many baseline tests done as I can. I would like someone to tell me where I can get a hold of the whole bill so I can take the time to read it.I don't want to be on this forever. On the other hand, I recognize the privilege I have and am grateful for it.Its a sweet deal if you are willing to give up all your assets which at age 20 is easy to do.But, what of when I get older. Let me try to set your mind at rest about one thing: If you heard it on Fox News it's probably a load of crap. Try CNN or MS-NBC instead.

I was once young and extremely productive during my 4 decades of employment. I was almost born working, as most working poor are.

I am not from your superior ITS ALL MIIIINE group. I came from a hard working, tax paying, God loving, blue collar family.

I am of "the masses" and while your ilk was playing patty cake with the commies, I was working my ass off, paid too much in taxes, gave to charity, took care of my belongings, loved my husband and successfully raised now fully employed adult children.

So now I have dementia. And I should damned well be able to receive treatment and comfort until my family or my God decides if/when to pull my plug.

I hope you never have to face it. But when you get old and sick and you can't keep your head about you enough to add simple numbers anymore, I hope you DO at least remember the coldness of the propoganda you help spread and spew.

And as to your philosophy, the same alligator that is going to eat us, is going to eat you as well, albeit last, perhaps. Or not.

By the way, you don't HAVE a bill to post yet. Only the recommendations of "those with the president's ear." Good luck with that.

This bill is way to complicated and "legal" to read. It's like doublespeak. Watch President Obama's speech to Congress on Wed. night where he will explain the basics of the Health Care Bill.

I work in mental health and the very best medication on the market for dementia buys you about 6 months. If you're talking TBI damage, that does have established treatments that work.
