My ACA Heatlh Insurance

I got ACA health insurance this year because I do not get insurance through an employer, and I am too young to enroll in Medicare.  I pay a premium of $88 per month, and another $1200 is supposed to be paid through tax credits.


Last year I had employer-provided health insurance that cost me $200 per month.  I saw doctors a few times for a couple of conditions, but stopped when the bills started climbing.  I have decided to get some more treatment for kidney disease, but not for CV issues.

Thank you for the tips. I hear that Medicare is quite complicated to navigate, and pretty basic in terms of what it covers and how much it will pay.. There is a group of volunteers in our town that advise people about it

I have heard that these groups have some ancillary agendas. One is watching out for, and reporting, potentially fraudulent activity in healthcare services, and another is to upsell people from the basic Medicare to the privatized "Medicare Advantage" plans.

Most Medicare fraud is providers who bill the gov't for services they did not deliver. Quite often, they will bribe or trick patients into participating in the fraud.
