I've done:
CHinese herbs (disaster)
accupuncture (felt good overall; don't know what it did for the hep)
homeopathy (at times got my enzymes to normal, great for overall health, made it so I never needed antibiotics or other conventional meds)
Healers Who Share (rip -0ff artists)
visualization (Gerald Epstein's book. No effect, but I'm not very good at it.)
Nutrition, milk thistle, etc. (helps with overall and liver health)
hypnosis (no effect on hep, though the practitioner had inappropriate boundaries; that may have influenced treatment)
Oil of oregano (no effect on hep c taken orally, but amazing as a topical skin treatment. Pimples dried up before my eyes)
I know someone who claimed he cured Hep C with green Tea. I don't want caffeine, but I was told that the healing ingredients bind to the caffeine, so the decaffinated type doesn't work.
I'm also interested in trying soul retrieval, has anyone?
What about emotional freedom technique?
When finances change, I may try those.
Let me know if anything's worked for you, or what to avoid.
Joe, have you tried spirulina and chlorella in massive amounts? Coffee enemas? Juicing?
spirulina and chlorella are super foods. I use Jarrow Yaeyama chlorella and Earthrise spirulina, and I buy the biggest bottle they have. http://chlorellafactor.com will explain why these are so important when you are healing.
Coffee enemas - use therapeutic roast organic beans and distilled or filtered water. 1 oz of ground beans, which about 1/4 cup, 3 cups water. bring it to a boil, let it boil slowly for 3 minutes and then turn it way down and simmer for 15 minutes, strain and add 6 icecubes made of distilled or filtered water to cool it down.
I use a Fleet enema bottle - holds 4 oz. Lubricate the tip for easy insertion. Hold coffee for 12-15 minutes then expel and repeat. I promise you will feel better in 15 minutes. I get my coffee from CafeMam and it's fabulous coffee. http://www.cafemam.com/store recommended by Gerson clinic.
Every morning, when you wake up, and you feel tired, do this: say Thank you, three times. Every time you start to feel tired, say Thank you, and really mean it, three times. It will change your energy if you are willing let it!
Juicing- the reason is simple, you get lots more nutrition. When I look at all the pulp I would have to eat, chew, swallow, digest and eliminate, vs a bottle of juice, I understand why drinking 24 oz of fresh juice makes me zippy. And lately, I've been mixing spirulina and chlorella into the juice right before I drink it for an extra boost of nutrition and energy.
The best fish to eat is wild catch salmon, it's high in omega 3's and should help with the itching. Also eat avocados for the same reason. You know what's good? Mash an avocado and spread it on the salmon then sprinkle it with macadamia nuts. Yummy!
Also remember, you have Hep C, it doesn't have you! Say thank you three times for that and smile! Then find someone to help. Helping others makes us feel better.
Did you try the Earthrise spirulina? It tastes like air popped corn. Not bad at all. NOW's spirulina reminded me of the smell of dirty gym socks!
People, I know that supplements are not cheap, but the worst thing you can do is buy the cheapest ones you can find! Go with a reputable brand, even if it costs more, and always buy capsules, unless it is Wobenzym which is an enterically coated tablet that bypasses the stomach juices, as it does its work in the small intestine. Further, open a capsule and take a taste. Even the most bitter herbs should have a healthy taste to them. Chlorella is quite seaweedy, but it still will taste decent as sea weeds go.
Just like you would want to eat fresh vegetables and fruits....you wouldn't eat a moldy carrot or shriveled up apple, and you need to learn to trust you tongue and your soul to let you know what's good.
Still, no matter what you do, be positive, be alive, be grateful for your life, for your legs, your arms, your heart, your liver! If you are feeling anxiety, guilt, fear, anger or any other negative emotion, it will affect your immune system and your health. Whenever you find yourself feeling unhealthy emotions, LOVE YOURSELF for being human and for having slipped into negativity. By loving yourself, you replace whatever negative unhealthy emotion you were feeling with the positive emotion of love, and that is going to boost your immune system.
I was just realizing today how I learned to be hard on myself from my parents and teachers as a child. No more. I don't have to continue that pattern. It takes practice. I find myself slipping into it without noticing until I'm up to my ears in self-destructive emotions and I wake up and remember to love myself. The emotions feel justified in staying, they use all kinds of blackmail and retribution to try to get me to fail. I have to love them for trying and tell them their services are no longer required. Tell them good bye. Thank them, and tell them good bye.
Amen Mak, love your liver, it's the only one
you've got. Baby it how ever you can, continually
think positive thoughts, and say thank you
every time something makes you smile. Besides
all the sups and food choices, that's really the
most important thing.
DOES ANYONE HERE DRINK ACAI JUICE? MY GI DOCTOR TOLD ME ABOUT IT...SEEMS TO HELP WITH THE LIVER TESTS...I GET HALF GALLON BOTTLES AT WALMART FOR $6.97. READ THE INGREDIENTS...IMPRESSIVE TO ME. I DRINK HALF CUP 2-3 TIMES/DAY.
Monolauren seems to be working for me. I'm determined to avoid all the blood tests, and will try to do this by the seat of my pants. Oh yeah, it's been a month since the Epsom salt/olive oil/grapefruit juice thing, so tonight I will do it. Forgive the "ad like" quality of the website. It just has some neat ideas about monolauren, ALA, and selenium.
It sounds like you've tried quite a few alternatives... I am currently doing a 3 month 3 phase alternative therapy program. I am 7 weeks in now and go back for my labs in the beginning of May.
If I may ask, why was your experience with Chinese herbs deemed a disaster? I am taking a couple right now and about to begin taking 2 more as part of my alternative treatment.
Welcome, Reverer, hope that you get some good results! I tried to get into the Fuzheng Huayu study with free pills for a year, but that didn't pan out. The MD recognized me from the local support group as a "natural" options person and I think he messed with me, with the results of the biopsy and labs, to keep me out of the study.
Funny, I responded to you on the other thread. Here's my Chinese herb experience. The dr. (who is still in practice) claimed an 85% cure rate for HIV and HCV. Groups of us came every week and went home with huge sacks of herbs, which we had to boil. The smell was awful, the taste, worse. Which I could have gotten over, except my bloodwork didn't get any better and then suddenly my enzymes spiked in the thousands and I was in the hospital with yellow skin and acute liver distress. It took me a year to recover my energy; for a month I could barely get out of bed. The western drs blamed the herbs, saying they may have been tainted. At first I was defensive, but no one could find an explanation for anything else it could have been, and Dr. Ren was very solicitous. I can't say for sure it was the herbs but with the quality control in Chinese toys, pet food, and baby formula, I wouldn't be surprised. After that I switched to homeopathy.
On that note, Mak, you talk a lot about chlorell a and spirulina. I stopped taking spirulina about 11 years ago because it was causing liver failure in some people. It seems that a major source was contaminated, not one brand but one of the major lakes it came from. Has this been solved?
Brigid: Thank you for sharing your awful experience with us... I'm so sorry you had to go through that... it must've been quite a difficult and challenging time in your life... but you are obviously a fighter/survivor and your endured..... I'm glad you pulled thru it and continue to press on.
Ptriss: Key word here is "yet." While there's life, there's hope my friend and I truly believe that nothing is impossible with God. With God, all things are possible. That doesn't mean I'm saying I will successfully "eradicate" the virus... but I am going to give it a go and I can't rule anything out... all I can do is step out in faith and trust in Him regardless of the outcome. And enjoy the journey.
Thanks for bringing up acia juice. I was going to start a threat about the new "superfoods", including goji and chia seeds. (I tried chia seeds once in a bar and they felt like grains of sand between my teeth. But the only way to really know if these things work is to do bloods before and after and keep all other variables the same (It's science fair time at my house so my mind is going that way. My daughter's been molding bread.)
Last year my GI doc did before and after labs with me drinking acai juice...labs were almost normal. However I still have the virus. Since I had a near fatal reaction to taking ribavirin/inter. for three days in January, I am VERY interested in alternatives. Organic veggies are good...but pretty expensive...eat them when you can :)
I've been drinking acai juice for two years now...gonna start some of your suggestions also. Please stay in touch :)
Brigid, I think you may be talking about blue green algae, as it comes from that lake in Oregon. That would be infected because of the homes around the lake, where does it go when they flush the toilet? Cryptosporins or something. I read about it. They also implicated Spirulina at hcvadvocate.org, in the FAQ sheets, for contamination.
Go to this website and you'll see where the spirulina I take comes from http://www.earthrise.com
As you can see, it's no lake, it's grown in specially designed ponds with filters and all kinds of gizmos. They used to have a video of the process, but I didn't see it just now. Very rigid standards. As I said earlier, it reminds me of dry pop popcorn, very clean taste. On the other hand, NOW brand spirulina tastes crappy, smells like dirty gym socks. It really does pay to get a good brand. You wouldn't eat a mud covered banana, so why eat cheap supplements? I once order golden seal root online, way back when, and got something green in capsules. Obviously not GOLDen seal root. I learned. Buy from a company you can trust.
Chinese herbs, I get the same impression, trouble. I think about them, but every time I think about them, I stop thinking about them, I think my higher self is saying NO.

Tinny, Walmart has several brands, which one are you getting? I don't see any on their website that match the information you gave.
