I keep reading about TT being hard to treat. Is that the same as genotype? I'm 1A. How do you know? What are the different types? Is it type of virus? I'm confused. What test shows it?
BTW, sorry if this should be on the main site.
Brigid, that's wonderful that you have such a wonderful diet! i'm sure it's made some difference in the virus. e.g., maybe it's replicating slower?
but i wonder how the researchers determined that 1A is the oldest? maybe 4A from egypt is the oldest? or perhaps the one from africa?
i've been trying to find on the web how they determined that 1A is the oldest but i can't find anything...other then they say hep C has probably been on the planet for millions of years.
I think a lot of it is guesswork, especially about things that happened millions of years ago. A drag that I have the worst strain -- I hadn't known that. I'm getting blood tests next week. Maybe I'll have some flu-resistant anscestors to make up for it.
BTW, vegetarian isn't always healthy. When I started, I hated vegetables, ate dairy and carbs. Lots of chocolate and ice cream. I quit sugar over 20 years ago and that really helped with my overall health, so hopefully with slowing the virus. But who knows...
BTW, if my blood tests show improvement and anyone wants the Revici contact info, I'm happy to share it. It's a lot cheaper than I thought ($500 the first month, but I only had to refill 2 out of 7 bottles the second month). And the only side effects are muscle pain from the giant needles for the injections and a growing aversion to tomato juice, which I've been drinking by the pint to balance my ph.
don't get discouraged even if you have genotype 1A. i'm 1A and before i started treatment the doctor told me i had a 40% chance of clearing. so i just put it in my little head that i would definitely be one of the 40% ! at 4 weeks into treatment i was undetectable and i'm still undetectable 2 1/2 years later! but i never pictured myself killing the virus. the picture i held in my mind was me riding a huge dragon around the universe. i was in control of it !
and i love our group here! i want to keep as healthy as possible! because even though i am undetectable or as they say "SVR" who knows what the future will bring? how do i know if i'll be SVR forever?
