Does anyone know how ketones may help w/ Hep C? One of the supplements I'm taking (the one that smells like nail polish remover) is a ketone. I also heard some weightlifters at the gym talking about taking them, but I'm not sure what they do. Thanks.
I usew to know, back in my hospital working days, but i know that ketosis is a state of very low blood sugar, diet induced or in starvation mode, and ketones are a acetone substance. I am very curious, what is the supplement called?
I don't know what it's called. All the bottles just have letter codes. I'm doing Revici treatment. He had great luck curing cancer in the 70's, moved on to hep and AIDS before he died at 101. The big thing is balancing ph, actually not having it balanced but having it fluctuate acid/alkaline to balance anabolic and catabolic metabolism. I had no results in terms of my bloodwork but my energy and well being improved. I started 4 months ago. I've been on this new protocol for 2 weeks.

My neighbor is a holistic MD. I asked if he knew anything for HCV, and he told me his father had had advanced Hep C and been given 6 months to live. He was treated by Dr. Revici and lived 10 years. He did die of liver cancer, though, so I guess it wasn't a cure. But it bought him a good amount of time.
i noticed when people were doing the high protein/fat diet with no carbs, they got nail polish remover breath.
Ketones according to several websites, are used to help a body lose weight and to control diabetes 2. Raspberry ketones are all over the internet right now, since Dr Oz featured them on his show.
Rasberry ketones? Naturally from rasberries? Or a supplement? I hope I don't get bad breath; I haven't noticed it yet. But I have to make up the capsules myself, from bottles of liquid, and they reek. Then they smell through the capsules.
BTW, I eat tons of carbs. Good carbs, lots of fruit, whole grains. Maybe that will help with the breath.
I wonder if this treatment is helping my hypoglycemia. I definitely have fewer symptoms.
I don't think you're doing a ketogenic diet, I think the ketones are specifically for losing weight. If you google, you'll see the raspberry ketones. It looks like they come from raspberries, but I don't know for sure. Some of the supplements add in other weight loss supplements.

WEll, I haven't lost any weight on this. Not that I'm trying. But I am 4 lbs over my pre-kids weight, and at 5'2", it makes a big difference in how clothes fit. It would be a nice silver lining...
personally I found the best way to lose weight is to go on a vegan diet of fruits and veggies, not grains, not nuts, no seeds, no oils, no sugars. I lost 30 pounds in 3 months. And I felt great! I didn't feel tired or stressed by the diet.
I was thinking that what dr is doing is treatly you holistically, not specifically. He's not treating the Hep C only. Is that possible? I think it's a good idea to treat holistically.
They are trying mainly for the Hep C, but to deo that they are trying to build me up. I sent in my bloodwork and they developed a protocol, but they didn't ask a lot of "whole person" questions like my homeopath (He was treating me holisticly). I'm not really sure what they're going for, although I guess if I have balanced ph everything else will right itself.
Can you ask them more questions, and find out what they are trying to accomplish?
Oh, kookie, I lost that weight when I was 20, 38 years ago. I went from a size 14 to a size 10. I felt great. I went to see my mom, so she could be proud of me, and she shot me down. She told me I was anorexic and was really mean. I gained it all back. :-( When I got married I weighed 155 again, and went to 192 with all three of my boys. I weigh 155 now, give or take a few pounds. My mom finally admitted she was just jealous of me back then. She was always jealous of me, and had a hard time appreciating me. And I find I have that same energy in me, I have to consciously change it to appreciate my kids. So I don't know if it's in the genes or in the way I was brought up. LOL Life is complicated.
yes, they say we choose our moms so we can grow and evolve. I learned a lot from her wounds, which I'm sure she got from her mom, and her mom got from her mom, etc.... I think it's fabulous that my mom finally admitted that she was jealous of me, don't you? I think I have helped her to grow.
