Hello,
I have been reading from the DS site even though I haven't written anything in a while. I don't know if you remember any of my past posts. I was on treatment for thirteen weeks and was a non responder. The treatment was stopped Dec. 9. As the weeks passed after treatment, I realized how sick I was with the side effects. I was never sick from the Hep C, just from the treatment. I think I am back to "normal" now, although I still get tired and sometimes take an afternoon nap. My doctor suggested that I see a specialist in another city. There is no urgency for that and I might some day. However, I am thinking that I will not do treatment again.
I was diagnosed in 1992 and think I have had Hep C since a surgery in 1975. I have had five liver biopsies since 1992. My last was this past August and it showed some progression. My stage is 2/3 and grade is 2/3.
In the past it was like a 1/2. That is why my doctor felt I should do the treatment.
I am learning a lot from the suggestions on the alternative treatments. I have always been conscious of health. I have many of the books that are mentioned and discussed here. I first discovered Louise Hay in 1996.
I am very interested in Vit. C and the reduction of viral load. A while back, someone mentioned that they took
1000 mg. of C every four hours and their viral load was greatly reduced.
Now that I am feeling so much better, I am getting back to my healthy way of life. I am eating better and I try to not eat white flour or sugar. I was not able to exercise for months. I have now started back to walking and am walking over a mile a day. I intend to increase that and add other exercise. I am back on my regular vitamins and am sleeping well.
I did not mean to ramble on. I really have a question about hormones. I am 61 and am probably finished with menopause. I have taken the bioidentical hormone cream for years. My doctor moved away and I have been using what cream I have every few days. I did contact the company for a referral list of doctors that prescribe the cream. I was given names of some in near by cities.
I am very confused as to what to do about the hormone cream. Is there a point when one should stop using the cream? Is the cream hard on the liver after many years? I read the John Lee book years ago. One thing he mentions is the over the counter progesterone cream. I used the cream he recommended for a few years. I am wondering if I should go back to using the over the counter progesterone cream for now as I don't really feel like looking for a new gynecologist at this time. I did see the replacement doctor at the office and had my yearly check up.
Again, I apologize for rambling. Now that I am healing from the treatment, I am thinking about many things.
Thank you for this group for alternative treatments. I have visited and bookmarked many sites that have been mentioned.

I think my biggest menopausal symptoms were moodiness and low energy. You are so right that those might be from the Hep C or made worse because of the Hep C. I do feel more in balance when I eliminate sugar and white flour from my diet.
