Hand and limb abnormalities are varied and can range from partial duplication of a finger to a missing or deformed limb. One of the more common such abnormalities is clubfoot. I am 40 years old with a club foot. At the time I was born, I had so many other problems that they pretty much just left my foot alone. I have spent my whole life hiding my ugly foot. It has prevented me from a lot of things like swimming, wearing flip flops, etc... I saw another post on here where a lady was pregnant and thought her baby had club feet but these posts were over a year ago.
I am just wondering if there is anyone else out there with this problem?

I do. I was born with clubfoot in both feet. I wore casts for about 8 months in order to correct th condition, but that was unsuccessful so around 8 or 9 months old I had corrective surgery. It was, for all purposes, successful but I still have pain and other issues because of the condition.

I'm 49 yrs old and I too was born with club feet and had several surgeries when I was only a few days old. I was in and out of the hospital till I was about 8 or 9 yrs. old.

Hi there, I know exactly what you are talking about. I have very poorly corrected clubfoot that right now I can't even walk on. I'm quite a bit younger than you, I'm 21, but if you'd like to talk about it I'm always around.

I have been away from this site for awhile, but I am back and wanted to thank everyone for their replies. Also, if all of you are still around here, can you tell me more about your daily life and how you manage with your club feet?

I use a wheelchair. I've got cerebral palsy on top of clubfoot. It helps a lot. I use heat, and I take pain meds as well.

I was born with a left club foot. I had 3 surgeries as a child and was 12 when I had the last surgery. I am a twin and my sister did not have any birth defects. I was afraid to wear a dress because My left leg was so much thinner than my right leg. If I dd wear a dress, I would wear boots or tights which didn't show my scars. Today, I have very painful arthritis in my left foot - cortisone injections are helping, but I can only get them every 6 months. My left foot is 1 1/2 sizes shorter then my right. When I was a child, my parents would buy me 2 pairs of shoes. I now only buy one pair. I have a lift on my shoe and wear orthotics. I would love to connect with others who also born with a club foot.

I'm 20 years old and I was born with Severe Bilateral Club Feet. Both of my feet swirled up ward and touched my ankles (or where my ankles are suppose to be). I had both feet broke when i was a baby. I have gotten 8 surgeries on both feet and I have pins all the way up to below my knee. I was in a cast to my waist till i was 2 1/2 and started walking when i was about 3 1/2. Life is not easy for me. I use to think my feet were the ugliest thing on me but with all the scares the look pretty awesome. It is really hard for me to wear any shoes because my feet still curve inward when i walk. I end up busting every shoes i get and have to get new ones every couple weeks, witch really sucks. The surgery did not go as they planned so I ended up with so many foot appointments that I'm still attending. I'm suppose to have surgery again but do not have the money for it. I was suppose to have it in high school but due to the same reason i couldn't. There's not a day that will go by and they don,t give me problems. I know what you mean and sometimes it can really stink.
