I applied and was turned down, which is what I understand they do to everyone at first. We applied for an appeal hearing April 1st. I am still waiting. Good Luck

I got approved for SS it took time and they go over everything if one piece of paper isn't filled out they deny right away, but your doctor should be able to help you out with what you need. Good Luck:)

I was lucky and got mine 7 months later. I didn't have a lawyer but also had cardio and vascular problems. I printed everything I could find about GBS and included it with my forms. Good luck!

I got lucky and was approved within 6 weeks of my first interview. Started collecting 6 months later. Make sure your doctors reply to everything within a timely fashion.

i am in Australia so cannot comment other than yes you should be eligible for disability pension. Hope it is quick for you :))
After drs letters and a medical was granted a disability pension here .

Keep us posted. I am about to leave the hospital to go to a rehab hospital. They have a social worker there that will help us with the SS process.

You must be over-prepared BEFORE you apply. Get all your doctors on board. If they won't support you, find another doctor who will. List every little detail of your physical problems, whether related to GBS or not. GET COPIES of all medical (and psychological) reports and SEND THEM IN WITH YOUR APPLICATION. Yes, I know, SS will send off releases, etc., but the application may be processed and reviewed sooner and you may get approved with the first application. If not, GET AN ATTORNEY as soon as you are denied. I worked for disability attorneys when I had to apply, so got good advice in advance. We actually went to the doctor that SS uses for an exam BEFORE my application. His opinion cemented the ruling and I was approvedd within a couple of months. Don't give up!
