As for what kind of doc I've got - dismissive and condescending sums it up.
I just read your blog. I really like it! :)
Just wondering if I understood correctly (since I may also have Asperger Syndrome,) did you mean "telescope" here to be funny, or did you mean "stethoscope?" : "Dr. FrankensteinScary and creepy. The hair on the back of your neck stands up when they place their telescope on you."
We are Doctor Who fans around here, so that really made me laugh!
My doctor is not on the list, though. He is very kind and caring, but he is rather rigid in what he thinks is best. He says I need to be on the MMI and in the normal range before I would have a real chance at going into remission, when he will bring me off the MMI gradually.
He doesn't want to let me hover too near the hyper levels for fear I will go over, but when I got my husband to go with me, we talked him into lowering my dose. He had me at 5 mg per day and lowered it to 2.5 (but I had already been skipping a dose every 4th day because I could hardly tolerate the way I was feeling.)
Every time I have done that, I have told him afterward, but he hasn't complained because I have been in the normal range and because I stay constant for the few weeks before my testing dates.
He doesn't typically test for T3 free, though, just for patients on Cytomel. I asked him to test it before my last visit because I felt so awful but it was in the normal range.
