Hello everybody.
I read in one article that sometimes hyperactive thyroid is treated with a combination of drugs that supress thryroid and the drug that adds T3/T4 hormones to your body. It was indicated in the article that when T3/T4 is added one's own production of T3/T4 is getting supressed. Unfortunately I lost the article.
Have anybody heard or tried this therapy?

For an overactive thyroi, Radioactive iodine helps reduce hormone levels. Also used are Tapozole and Prophylthiouracil, which block the thyroids ability to make thyroid hormones. If these fail part of the gland may have to be surgically removed. In some cases pregnancy or a virus can lead to a temporaily inflamed thyroid.
I opted for Radiation. My Endo told me that they use it now to completely kill the gland because its so hard to kill the right amount for each person. I take Levothyroxine everyday to replace my hormone and I usually do okay. They didnt tell me about suppressing treatments though and I think I would have tried those first.
