I would be so freaked out to have embolization so close to my head. At least it is something new and different .

Actually, I see articles going back to 2009 studies. I don't find it any scarier than RAI and TT, and it seems to have a better outcome (no post surgery hypothyroidism).

I too was following this procedure. There was a professor from China that wrote the paper on it and he resided in Canada but is no longer there. Elaine Moore knew of a lady that went all the way to China to have the procedure done and it did work for a couple of years but I believe the last I heard that it stopped working for some reason but did not follow up.

I'm going to do some research and see if I find anything more recent. Nothing works for everyone, but this certainly would be "the path of least resistance".

The reason why arterial embolization is usually temporary is because the body senses a block in flow and over time will build collateral circulation in attempt to return the body in its original state.

DSgreen - I agree with you that the procedure is interesting and definitely would be a viable alternative to what we have.
I guess I am a little more fearful of angio work because I was taking part directly in many procedures including embolzation of arteries.
